1st Grade Koinobori

First Graders learned all about Japan's Children's Day celebration. They also learned about Koinobori, which are carp windsocks that are put out during this celebration. The kids enjoyed drawing on their fish with sharpies, then used watercolors to make their fish bright and colorful. This was a great lesson that I got from this blog. I will definitely be doing this with more students in the future!
