About the teacher....

I am so happy to be teaching at Santa Fe!

I am originally from Texas, where I grew up on a cattle ranch and my dad had
me raking hay at the age of 12! After finishing High School in College
Station, I attended the University of North Texas in Denton. I studied Fine
Arts and my concentration was in Ceramics. When I graduated from college, I
moved to Austin and pursued my K-12 art teaching certificate from Texas State
University. Afterwards, I taught High School Art for a year and Elementary Art
for two years. I decided I needed a change of scenery, so I moved to
Nashville, Tennessee to be closer to two of my sisters. I got a job with MNPS
teaching High School Art I and Art Survey.

This will be my first year at Santa Fe and I hope there will be many more
years to follow! I'm looking forward to teaching all levels of Art because
there are so many great things about each grade level.

When I'm not teaching, I really enjoy baking, decorating cakes, river
kayaking, hiking, camping, sewing, and working on my own art.
